Dear New Beginnings Learning Academy Families,

Welcome Back to the New 2024-25 School Year! Welcome back to all our NBLA families and a warm welcome to our new ones! As the principal of NBLA, I am truly honored and excited to embark on this new school year journey with each of you. Whether you are returning or joining us for the first time, I am eager to see your familiar and new faces alike as we begin another year of growth and achievement at New Beginnings Learning Academy.

To our returning families and students, I am grateful for your continued trust and commitment to NBLA. Your presence enriches our community and contributes to the vibrant atmosphere that makes our school special. Together, we will build on our past successes and create new milestones as we navigate the year ahead. For our new families, I extend a heartfelt welcome. We are thrilled to have you join our educational family and look forward to getting to know you and supporting your journey at NBLA. Our dedicated staff, alongside all stakeholders - including students, parents, Board Members, and community members - are committed to our students receiving an instructional, rigorous, and nurturing learning environment where every student can thrive.

The health and safety of our students, families, and educators remain our foremost concern. NBLA continues to strive to maintain a safe environment for everyone within our school community. While the choice of wearing masks remains at the discretion of families, we strongly recommend prioritizing safety as we navigate daily activities. It is imperative that we work together to uphold a secure and supportive environment for all individuals at NBLA.

At New Beginnings Learning Academy, our vision and mission are dedicated to providing a all students with the foundational academic and social skills essential for achieving their highest potential. We aim to cultivate respectful, thoughtful, and well-balanced individuals while challenging our students to become engaged scholars in the 21st Century. We are committed to fostering a positive school climate that supports student learning. We will be accountable to our community and uphold professionalism in all aspects of our roles as educators.

This year, we are fully embracing our new district theme: "L.E.A.N. (Learn, Extend, Advance, & Never Give Up) In for Success ...while Watching Our Garden of Learning Grow and Blossom," at NBLA. This initiative reflects our commitment to dreaming big, fostering continuous learning, growing collectively, and achieving success together. Together, we provide a positive and impactful educational experience for all families involved.

In our commitment to advancing student learning, we are pleased to announce the schedule for the start of the 2024-25 school year. The First Day of school is, Wednesday, August 14, 2024, and will be the first "FULL " day of school, beginning at 9:00 am and concluding at 3:30 pm. As our students arrive dressed in uniforms, carrying clear see-through bookbags filled with dreams and goals, our School Board has made provisions for all students to receive one FREE, clear back pack on the first day of school.

We are also pleased to inform you that Dolton School District #149 will continue the implementation of the Community Eligibility Provision (CEP), an option available to schools participating in the National School Lunch and School Breakfast programs, for 2024-2025 school year.

Schools that participate in CEP are able to provide healthy breakfasts and lunches each day at no charge for all students enrolled in that CEP school. THANK YOU ALL FOR YOUR SUPPORT!!!
